It’s about another moment of my life. It happened in 2005 when I was a prefect of my school.
Just like a typical mischievous teenage school girl I wanted to cut a class (Although I was a prefect 😉 ). So I was walking to the play ground with a friend of mine. At once a teacher appeared and asked,
“Where are you going?”
“umm Ma.. Madam, We came to go to the washroom and going back to class.”
“Ok then good.. Do you see this little sister. She needs your help”
OMG. A small girl with full of blood on her white school uniform. Looked like she just came out of a crime.. scared, pale and sweating.
“She is in grade 7. She has just come school after her first period and doesn’t know how to handle. Can you please help to wash her frock?”
My friend looked at me and in her eyes it was a direct “No!”. But I said “Yes!” because as usual I did put my feet in her shoes. I asked my friend to go back to the class; but anyway she chose to stay with me.
Teacher went away and I went with little sister. My friend brought a new frock from school ‘First AID room’. So the little girl was comfortable with that and she gave her frock to us. Almost the whole skirt part of the frock was wet with blood. I washed it with bare hands and never felt disgusted. I felt like a mother helping her little girl. 🙂
Finally she looked fine and happy with unexpected kindness from us. Although we could not wander in play ground as planned, we could do something better.
Life is too short to follow each and every rule. You have to write your fate with your own words. And for sure as long as you believe in ARK… “one Act of Random Kindness at a time”, the chapters will be filled with unforgettable moments of kindness.. Just like I broke the rule of studying in the class and finally got a chance to help someone.
